Bump It Up with Jeep XHD Bumper Systems |

Every Jeep owner who routinely takes their beloved vehicle out on a trailer ride or two knows that some of the most important parts are the Jeep Bumpers. While bumpers are important in all types of cars, but they especially important for people who love the off-road, trial-riding life. They not only protect the driver if they hit something, but they also have other purposes as well. We have discovered a great company that makes all sorts of bumpers and bumper kits for CJs and Wranglers. This article will focus on the XHD bumper systems by Rugged Ridge.
Rugged Ridge touts the fact that they have over 100 combinations for their bumper kits. These combinations range from the standard bumper meant to protect the Jeep in case of a hard impact all the way to fancy ones that actually store stuff.
One of our favorite bumper packages they make is the XHD winch bumper with stinger and d-rings made for the Wranglers JK. This package is great for people who enjoy going out riding in truly rough terrain. The package comes complete with s stinger to help protect the vehicle and the driver from rolling over in a rocky area. These things allow the Jeep owner to push the limits further than ever before.
This is one of the XHD bumper systems by Rugged Ridge that easily mounts to the Wrangler frame with a four bolt design. They provides one the absolute toughest attachments found anywhere as they create two overbuilt pull points. This system allows for the bumper to be mounted close to the frame rails that draws the bumper close to the body which in turn increases the approach angle. The narrow width of the bumper package gives tons of clearance for the front tires.
When installing the stinger, the XHD front bumper d-rings will need to be removed because the stinger installs in the same places where the d-rings are attached. Don.t worry though; the package comes with standard d-ring brackets to use in place of the ones that needed to be removed. With the stinger in place a winch can easily be installed on the bumper.
Another one of the great XHD bumper systems by Rugged Ridge is the XHD front bumper rock crawler package for Wranglers JK. This package is perfect for people who live to take their Jeeps into the rocky unknown. This system mounts very much like the system we discussed above and it also comes with the same stinger. The real difference between the two systems is the extended front bumper base which spreads out across the front of the Jeep to help protect the tires and the fender flares.
The last of the XHD bumper systems by Rugged Ridge that we will discuss today is the XHD aluminum winch mount front bumper system. The main reason a system made out of aluminum is to help save a little weight which for everyday driving will allow for better fuel mileage. But the bumper also needs to be durable enough to withstand some trail riding. This package fits both those prerequisites perfectly. The system is about 80 pounds lighter than the normal steel system found on most off-road Jeeps. This lighter weight should equate to about a 2% fuel mileage savings.
