Rugged Ridge Heavy Duty NP231 Slip Yoke Eliminator Kit for 1987-06 Wranglers, and 1988-04 Cherokee XJ, Commanche MJ, and Grand Cherokee ZJ.
Transfer case tailshaft length is reduced by 6.5 inch on 1997-06 Wranglers and 4.25 inch on 1988-95 Wranglers reducing the driveline angles.
Kit Includes: Heavy-duty rear output shaft which is shorter and has 18% larger spline diameter and a 54% increase in torque capacity. New aluminum rear output housing, bearings, seals, snap rings, bolts and instructions.
This kit is a MUST if you installed a 2 inch or taller suspension in your 1987-06 Jeep Wrangler. This kit fits all newer production NP 231 transfer cases (1988-up). A Slip Yoke Eliminator Kit will eliminate the need to drop your transfer case in order to avoid drive train vibrations that are caused by taller suspension lift kit. The purpose of this kit is to replace the slip yoke portion of the NP 231 with a fixed-yoke, CV style drive shaft assembly. This is the most complete and strongest kit available. Check out the size and thickness of the output shaft housing.
Note: A CV equipped drive shaft will be required for this conversion kit.

Q: The replacement speedometer I purchased is not working correctly, why?
A: It is recommended that you purchase a new speedometer cable when you purchase a new speedometer. This item is often overlooked and what is thought to be an issue with the replacement speedometer may in fact be related to the cable. After installing the new speedometer double check all connections to the rear of the gauge and the cables attachment point at the transfer case. A bad cable will often produce a jumping effect or even a no read situation.
